This is a simple post giving my reasons why I think parents should homeschool their kids.

1. For Christians and non-Christians alike, one practical reason for homeschooling your children is the quality of education. The US continues to fall further behind the rest of the developed world in metrics, especially math and science.

2. For Christians, we need to face the fact that the public school system, and in many cases the private schools too, have been infiltrated and mastered by people using education as a front to indoctrinate our kids with hateful ideologies that promote selfishness, hatefulness, lying, and violence. Just look at the recent videos of young people showing up at riots and the hateful things they say and the violent things they gladly participate in.

3. There is a biblical reason why parents should elect to homeschool their kids today. The Bible says we should “train up our child in the way they should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Today’s public education system teaches secular humanism, not Godliness. So literally our children are being trained up in the very way they should NOT go.

4. Today, young people are best known for their confusion, anxiety, anger, and hopelessness. Is it any wonder with what they are being taught? They are told you can’t possibly know who they are, what they should believe, or that there is good in the hope of a just and loving God. Then we seem mystified at their problems of drug abuse, sexual destruction, and suicidal tendencies. All of that goes away when children are raised up to have purpose rooted in Jesus Christ and realizing their hope does lie in themselves or other people. Only then will they experience peace and joy.

As parents, you have a choice to make. Do you want to do right by your children or will you pick your own selfish desires over their welfare? Or worse yet, are you choosing yourself over God’s will? This is the main question that has to be answered.
